Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do you cater for?

We provide care and education programs for children from infancy (6 weeks) through to preschool age (6 years).

What are your opening hours?

All Little Scribblers centres are open Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 6:00pm, providing families with reliable, consistent care that supports busy routines.

How do I enrol my child?

Families can complete our enquiry form and book a tour of the centre. From there, our friendly enrolments team will guide you through the rest of the enrolment process and support you every step of the way.

Do you offer Child Care Subsidy?

Yes. Eligible families may receive support through the Australian Government Child Care Subsidy (CCS), which can significantly reduce daily fees. Some families may also be eligible for the NSW and VIC 3 Day Guarantee/Free Kinder initiatives, helping children access up to 3 days of early learning at reduced or no out-of-pocket cost, depending on eligibility and session types.

What fees are included in the daily rate?

Our daily fees include nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day (excluding dinner), nappies, sunscreen, and our educational program. Children aged 3 and above transitioning into our School Prep Program also receive access to our specialised school readiness curriculum delivered by dedicated educators, along with a centre hat, bag, and shirt.

What should my child bring each day?

Children should bring a bag containing a hat, spare clothes, a drink bottle, bedding for rest time, and any required medications. Nursery children will also need bottles, formula, nappy cream, a pacifier if used, and any comforting or soothing items that help them feel settled throughout the day.

Do you provide meals?

Yes. We provide fresh meals and snacks daily through a professional catering company that prepares meals in line with the Australian Dietary Guidelines. The catering facility is completely nut and egg free and can cater for a wide range of cultural, allergy, and dietary requirements.

What qualifications do your educators have?

Our educators hold or are actively working towards approved early childhood qualifications, including First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis training.

How do you keep children safe?

Children’s safety and wellbeing are our highest priority. We maintain a strong child-safe culture through thorough recruitment and screening processes, including Working With Children Checks, reference checks, qualifications verification, and ongoing child protection training for all educators.

Our centre follows strict supervision practices, secure sign-in and sign-out procedures, safe sleep and rest practices, hygiene and infection control procedures, emergency evacuation drills, allergy and medical management plans, and daily risk assessments to help ensure children remain safe at all times. We also follow the National Quality Framework, Child Safe Standards, and current safe sleep guidelines recommended by Red Nose Australia

What learning programs do you offer?

Our educational programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), the National Quality Framework (NQF), and school readiness curriculums for both NSW and VIC. We provide play-based learning experiences inspired by the Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Curiosity Approach philosophies, encouraging children to explore, create, and build confidence through meaningful hands-on learning experiences.

Our programs include literacy, numeracy, STEM, creative arts, PDHPE, social development, cultural inclusion, sensory and school readiness experiences tailored to each child’s interests, strengths, and developmental needs.

How do you communicate with families?

We believe strong partnerships with families are essential to supporting children’s learning and wellbeing. Our educators work closely with families through open communication, daily conversations, newsletters, photos, learning updates, and digital platforms that provide real-time insights into children’s progress and experiences.

Families are encouraged to share their child’s interests, goals, and milestones with educators so we can create collaborative learning experiences and maintain a strong connection between home and the centre..

How do you help children transition to school?

Our Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten programs are specifically designed to help children build the confidence, independence, and foundational skills needed for a successful transition to primary school. The program includes literacy, numeracy, social development, PDHPE, STEM, and structured learning experiences that reflect a typical school routine.

We also work closely with local schools and provide each child with a Transition to School Statement aligned with the EYLF and relevant state curriculum frameworks. This helps families and future teachers understand each child’s strengths, personality, and learning journey to support a smooth and positive transition into school.

How do I book a tour?

Booking a tour is easy. Families can complete our online enquiry form, call the centre directly, or send us an email. One of our friendly enrolments team members will then contact you to arrange a suitable tour time and answer any questions you may have about the centre and enrolment process.
